Tottenham Hotspur vs Tromsø IL

For a more in depth and slightly entertaining report on the game i suggest you tune in to the latest episode either through iTunes or HERE but here were the highlights...

The camera man at The Lane managed to pick out the top totty in the away end but unfortunately she pulled what i can only describe as the inside of an animal over her original shirt...which was a shame.

Eriksen smashed in this absolute PEACH

and this lone Yid in the away end showing us real dedication (captured by Adam Berry)

COMING SOON

All it takes is "Basics Gel"

All it takes is "Basics Gel"

Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Norwich

Today's game, for me, was the official start to our premier league campaign; Etienne Capoue still a few weeks away from the recovery of his twisted ankle, Erik Lamela quite possibly not 100% match fit just yet but otherwise everyone, including Sandro and Kaboul are ready to get this years battle for a top 4 spot underway. And it brings me ridiculous amounts of joy and excitement to finally see the "void that needed filling" finally filled with the Dutch delight that is Christian Eriksen.
His debut performance today was nothing short of excellent, making 51 passes and covering a ridiculous amount of ground to want the ball at every end of the park, and something what feels like we haven't seen at White Hart Lane since scare crow rat faced boy turned his nose a whole hemisphere to move to Spain.

With Eriksen playing we are bound to start seeing the £26 million Soldado come to fire as'well as the rest of the squad being influenced in to the game; as i imagine we all felt like "awww'ing" with delight when Siggy was on the verge of bracing a hat trick! He's expressed how at home he already feels and how he's delighted to be at Tottenham but what matters is consistency. Our squad is already showing tremendous depth but, instantly, i noticed a change as soon as Eriksen left the pitch. The work horse Lewis Holtby is, obviously, the player to fall straight in to Eriksen's position; but unfortunately isn't as fluid or inspirational as what Eriksen clearly is! This is no bad wrap against Lewis Holtby at all because he is an utter bull dog for us, chasing down balls, covers more ground than expected and plays with absolute pride and passion every single time he pulls that shirt over him self, but, it's whether he can find that killer ball that Modric and now our Eriksen seem to find with ease. Saying all that we can't knock the squads performance today, at all. I can't remember the last time we looked so relaxed in play and practically commanded every inch of the field. We looked so in control that Hugo Lloris may as well have pulled up a sun lounger and sipped a Pina Calada. I am desperately trying not to get ahead of my self, but, consistency is obviously going to play a pivotal role in our battle for a top 4 position and here's to hoping that we don't fall too reliant on our new Dutch wonder boy. Hopefully his influence to the game can rub on to the entire squad.

The Void That Needs Filling

Now, i'll start this off by saying not at any point have i produced anything negative about Dempsey or Demebele...ok, i wasn't massively convinced by Dempsey's arrival to begin with as this clear goal machine was destined to solve our goal drought problems...right? Needless to say though he's come good within my books, scoring us some damn important goals in both the Premiership as well as the Europa League; where he had 3 goals in total swiped away for offside's...2 of which i'd highly dispute.
Moussa Dembele on the other hand has been a fantastic asset within midfield from day dot; partnering Sandro in what could arguably be one of the strongest midfield duo's in the Premier League for a long time? although Moussa absolutely needs to understand that he is allowed to shoot and not feel like a naughty school boy when he does.

My point in this post being is that I don't believe the void has been filled in what we lost between both Luka 'scarecrow rat face boy' Modric and Rafael 'Punched his wife!? WHY!?' Van Der Vaart and bringing in Fulhams best offers. Because of that i do believe is where the lack of trigger pulling up top stems from, no one to load the bullets? Makes you wonder what happened to Adebayors goal tally doesn't it. Lack of ambition from Daniel Levy in my opinion.

Gareth Bales comfort in his free role, gifted to him like an early Christmas present from AVB, isn't exactly the play making that we're after. You can't fault the quality in his own natural independent goal scoring; to which has carried us massively in an injury plagued team but it hasn't benefited the key players (strikers) apart from Bale him self and the team, Tottenham Hotspur, as a whole. Racking up 25 goals to his name this season and undoubtedly keeping us in the top 4 race. But could you imagine how much higher our points and goal tally would be this season if we had somebody with the flare and vision of both Modric and Van Der Varrt in one player? aside from Rafa's paper thin hamstrings and Modric's boat race, that could make Mother Teresa question faith as a whole, surely we'd be sitting pretty in 3rd...hell, maybe even 2nd?
So at the age of 26, two seasons of transfer speculation, and allegedly being practically on our door step last summer Joao Moutinho surely has to be TRANSFER TARGET #1? might i add he's also racked up 14 assists this season at Porto, the most in any one season of his career!

Now, if all this transfer speculation was true about how close we were to signing him, let alone AVB rubbing shoulders rather well with him, then what's the problem? Daniel Levy needs to start showing ambition in the future of this club and finishing this transfer off and getting the man we set out for; that would be perfect. Day 1, Moutinho in a Spurs shirt BOOM! next up Leandro Damiao, Christian Benteke?

Stoke Rugby FC vs Tottenham 'we're allowed to shoot?' Hotspur FC

Well, all we can do now is hope for a loss from the scum or at worst a draw. In my honest opinion, that performance against a 10 man Stoke doesn't at all justify a Champions League spot for our selves. It's all well and good having higher, possession, pass completion etc but goals win games and statistics mean shit.

Although we did, to me, we didn't even look like scoring. Games like that need to be put to bed certainly when you have a player advantage for 45 minutes.

Going to gear up to record a new episode in a bit with BamSam. Look forward to hearing your views and discussing them with you all!

Viva La Pubcast

"...the amount of coffee I've drank could kill a small horse, i swear."

First things first...i am fucking exhausted, i just want to get that across; but it was massively worth getting this blog back up and running and with a fresh look and a bit more character to it's self.

This season it's a shame that our last stretch for the top 4 hasn't been half as good as the activity that's come from Balls Deep Pubcast. Seeing as the pubcast has become relatively popular, more so than BamSam and my self would have ever imagined, we've decided to get our selves a little more organised, get the blog site looking more appealing and actually going about using the damn thing on a daily basis.
As well as this blog being used,by the two of us, i can imagine you'll find 80% Tottenham Hotspur based posts with the odd random post from our own lives, quite possibly.

But either way this is a big WELCOME from the two of us here at Balls Deep Towers (euphemism for penis) and hopefully this blog site provides you, the listeners, with one more channel of entertainment from the two of us.
